"I believe Photoshop is in some way the contemporary darkroom, the creative area that all photographers have available today.
This crash course introduction to Photoshop has been designed to give students a basic understanding of the software through the guided creation of a mock magazine cover. Students will be introduced to opening and navigating the program, layers, cleaning up images, adjusting exposure, color correction, importing and dropping multiple images into a file, photo retouching, the type tool, and exporting for print/web usage, with many other features in between. The goal of this class is for students to successfully use the most basic of Photoshop tools and techniques to create well-edited images for a variety of uses.
Meet the Instructor
Hi there! My name is Ashley Miller. I was born and raised in the small City of Amarillo, TX, where I began my artistic journey. I fell in love with the craft of photography both as a commercial money making skill and an artistic exploration of light, color and composition. I graduated with a Bachelors of Fine Art in Photography from MassArt and have since been working as a freelance photographer specializing in portraiture, photo restoration, and fine art pieces for commission. I enjoy all facets of photography and love to work within all of them!
